It's a fiesta in my mouth!

I'm honored to have my friend Danielle be our first guest reviewer!
Danielle is a mom of two awesome kids who looks forward to family adventures, one day having an organized home, and a good margarita.  She is a native of Alaska, a professional writer and a cool person all-around.

The original margarita. Delicioso!
If you’re looking for a family friendly Mexican restaurant with killer margaritas, we highly recommend you give Mi Mexico at 11407 Forest Avenue in Clive a try.

Before even shuffling the kids off to the bathroom to wash their hands, order up a round of the original margaritas (skip the others on the menu, the original is the one you want full of lime juice, high quality tequila, and a not-too-sweet mix served up in a shaker). You will be transported to Margarita Heaven as your kids dive into their coloring pages, chips, salsa, and bean dip.

Our son's "Taco Kit,"
as he calls it.
Although this restaurant has us at “margarita,” there are plenty of other things to love like the colorful décor, fast and friendly service, extensive menu, and consistently good food. We especially like that they always accommodate our son’s request for all of his taco fixings to be served à la carte, so he can build his own tacos. (Independent-minded 5-year-olds have strong opinions about how tacos should be constructed.) For our family, this is the restaurant where everyone is content, eats well, and enjoys one another. A content family makes for a nice meal out.

Mi Mexico is also a great place to sit on the patio in the summer. My husband and I have been known to pop in for the last hour we have a babysitter to sip a margarita and snack on some chips and salsa as our night winds down. It makes for the perfect end to a date night.
Danielle's favorite meal at Mi Mexico, the Mexican StirFry. A bed of Spanish rice covered in tender chicken, veggies, and cheese. It's wonderful scooped into tortillas.
Our kids love that the chips and salsa come with a tasty bean dip. Often, this bean dip is the bulk of our 2-year-old's meal.

Mi Mexico is a great family restaurant with enough going for it to make the adults excited to go there too. Give it a try!
