Sometime I just don't feel like cooking, or maybe it's the cleaning up after dinner that stinks? Either way, you won't have to do either on Wednesday nights anymore! On Wednesday nights during the school year, The West Des Moines United Methodist Church on Grand and 8th serves up $3 complete meals! Yes! $3 for adults and $2 for kids under 12. The meal is open to the public from 5:45pm to 6:30pm on Wednesday nights during the school year. It is in the Heritage Hall on the first floor of the building.
The meal is served cafeteria style and includes an all-you-can-eat salad bar, main meal with sides, dessert and drinks (free refills) all included in the price.
Meals range from tacos to pizza to chicken and pork roast to spaghetti and meatballs. The next weeks meal is listed on the board where you pay or can be found on the website here along with other info about the Wednesday night activities and calendar.
Don't be scared to try it because you don't attend the church, it is totally open to the public, the staff is friendly, the price is right and the food is great. Diners are welcome to stay for the classes offered for the evening from 6:30pm - 7:30pm if they like as well.
Give it a shot! And make sure you catch a night that they are serving up their famous bread pudding with caramel sauce....YUM!
Awesome . . . Great review of a great place to eat.
