Did you know that most local fire stations allow you to tour the station anytime with your child? They do recommend scheduling a tour however. Plus, it's more fun with friends. So get a group together and call your local fire station. The tours are so fun and so educational. The kids get to sit in the trucks, try on gear and learn about how Firefighters keep us safe. Urbandale fire station gives out goodie bags with home fire safety info, stickers, pens and coloring sheets. They are also available for birthday parties! Yes! They will show up at your house and show the kids around the fire truck then take the birthday boy or girl on a ride around their neighborhood. What an awesome birthday!
Ps. Your local police station does tours too!
