So we couldn't resist trying out the new cupcake bakery, Scratch Cupcakery in the Bridgewood plaza near Jordan Creek Town Center in West Des Moines. The line wasn't too long on a weekday afternoon and they were plenty stocked with all of the flavors of the day. They have a daily menu here, which is awesome so you can decide which sugary orbs of goodness you want to order before you go in and not have to make rushed decisions in line. It can be overwhelming, so check out the menu and come prepared =) A cupcake will run you exactly $2.
They certainly get an A+ for presentation. These cakes are just so darn cute.Scratch is definitely Nathan's new favorite bakery in town. They are even carry gluten-free cupcakes now!
I have to say, the Peanut Butter Cup was really amazing. A really good frosting that isn't overkill on the sweetness is hard to do, and scratch does a nice job. Nathan's favorite was the "Oh Happy Day". It's much like birthday cake and Josh went for the Oreo Cookie cupcake. Try them with milk to cut the sugary-ness!
They can even make any of their cupcakes into a milkshake for you!
